Drawdown calculationHow the threshold movesEOD trailing
Details

Firm states LucidFlex evaluation and funded accounts use an “End-of-Day Drawdown (EOD Drawdown)” system to calculate the Max Loss Limit (MLL). The MLL rises with the account's highest END-OF-DAY closing balance only; it does not trail intraday. Once the account exceeds the Initial Trail Balance the MLL “locks and no longer moves”, locking at starting balance + $100. Initial Trail Balance / Locked MLL Balance by size: 25K $26,100 / $25,100; 50K $52,100 / $50,100; 100K $103,100 / $100,100; 150K $154,600 / $150,100. On a payout request the MLL adjusts to the Locked MLL Balance. Breach occurs when balance reaches the MLL threshold.

Drawdown calculationHow the threshold movesSelectable at purchase: Intraday trailing (Option 1) or EOD trailing (Option 2)
Details

The model is chosen at purchase and 'is locked for the life of the account'. Option 1 (No Scaling / Trailing Drawdown): 'The trailing drawdown follows your account's highest value throughout the trading day, including both realized and unrealized (open) profits. It is calculated in real time and includes commissions.' It moves up on new highs and never moves back down; falling below the threshold suspends the account. Option 2 (EOD): 'The End-of-Day (EOD) drawdown is updated once per trading day, after the market closes... based only on your closing account balance. Intraday fluctuations do not affect your threshold.' WHEN TRAILING STOPS: on the Qualification Account itself the help centre does not state a stop point; on the Master Account that follows, 'the trailing drawdown stops moving once it reaches your starting balance + $100. From that point, it becomes permanently fixed.' Master lock table: 25K drawdown $1,500, initial threshold $23,500, permanent threshold $25,100, account value required to lock $26,600; 50K $2,500 / $47,500 / $50,100 / $52,600; 100K $3,000 / $97,000 / $100,100 / $103,100; 150K $4,500 / $145,500 / $150,100 / $154,600.

End-of-day trailing. TPT states the drawdown for test accounts is calculated only at the end of the trading day, not during open trades, and the dashboard shows it as 'Minimum Account Balance'. The Minimum Account Balance starts at (account size minus the maximum trailing drawdown) and follows your highest end-of-day balance upward only; it stops trailing permanently once it reaches the original starting balance. Despite being an end-of-day calculation, TPT states the account is immediately liquidated if the balance drops to the Minimum Account Balance at any time, through realized or unrealized losses. This figure and mode differ by phase: the same dollar drawdown carries into PRO but is then computed intraday (trailing unrealized profit in real time), and PRO+ returns to an end-of-day calculation.

Trading window 6 PM Eastern to 5 PM Eastern; the trading day ends at 5 PM ET and TPT automatically closes any open position at 4:55 PM ET; positions cannot be carried from one trading day into the next; trades opened at or after 6 PM ET count toward the next trading day; missing a holiday-adjusted close results in liquidation. Products: most futures on CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX; no stocks, options, forex, crypto or CFDs. News rule does NOT apply in the Test - TPT states test accounts are free to trade through all news events. No minimum hold time is published. No trading bots or algos of any kind; all trades must be manually executed. Trade copiers are permitted only across accounts you own and control, and only from TPT's approved list (Tradesyncer, TradeCopia, Affordable Indicators, Replikanto Flowbot Compliance Edition only, and platform-native copier tools); the trader is responsible for copier-caused violations. No counter positions - opposite positions in the same or closely related products (e.g. ES/MES, NQ/MNQ, YM/MYM) across accounts under the same beneficial control cause automatic liquidation and profit forfeiture. Positions must be exited before a CME limit up/down is reached. No daily loss rule: TPT's own Test/PRO/PRO+ table lists the daily loss rule as 'None' for all three account types. No scaling plan. Unlimited test accounts may be held and traded simultaneously; test accounts purchased with credits are valid for 60 days and are not eligible for promotions. Firm states the Max Loss Limit “does NOT trail intraday” and instead “updates after the trading session closes” based on the end-of-day balance. It trails up with new end-of-day highs, never down. Once the account grows sufficiently the drawdown “locks in at your starting balance + $100” and stops trailing upward. Official example: a $100K funded account with a $2,500 MLL starts with a breach level of $97,500; if the account closes at $108,000 the new breach level locks at $100,100. IMPORTANT: the MLL differs between phases — evaluation is $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,500 while funded is $1,000 / $2,000 / $2,500 / $3,500 for 25K / 50K / 100K / 150K. The sizes table below records the EVALUATION figure.

Evaluation: no payouts. Funded: “yes, daily (every 24 hours, provided all payout conditions are met)”. A 50% progression rule applies: “After your first payout, at least 50% of every future payout request must come from new profits” generated since the previous payout. Firm-wide, a verified Rise account linked to your profile is now required to request a payout.

Store label: “Drawdown Type — EOD (End of Day)”; “Drawdown Lock — Locks at starting balance + $100”. Article 3.1: “Standard MAX accounts use an End-of-Day (EOD) trailing drawdown that updates once at the END of each trading session, not after each trade. The drawdown level adjusts based on your account balance at the session close. Intraday losses beyond the DLL are managed by the soft breach lockout, not the drawdown.” Also: “The trailing drawdown is a floor that follows your account balance upward as you profit, but never moves down. If your account balance falls to or below the trailing drawdown level, your account is failed and must be reset or restarted.” Trailing stops permanently once the floor reaches starting balance + $100 (Article 2.5 example for a 50K: “locks its trailing drawdown at $50,100 — from then on the trader can never be drawn below $50,100, no matter how high the balance climbs”). The same EOD drawdown applies in the evaluation and in the sim-funded account, where the drawdown amount doubles as the required buffer.

Evaluation 40% — Article 3.6: "The rule compares your BEST SINGLE SESSION profit to your TOTAL PROFIT TARGET. If one session exceeds the allowed percentage of the profit target, your profit target increases until consistency is restored. This does NOT immediately fail your account — it raises the bar." Worked example given for a 50K with a $3,000 target: "40% = $1,200 maximum for any single session. If you make $1,500 in one day, your new profit target increases to approximately $3,750".

Funded 40% at the sim-funded stage — "your best day must be at or below 40% of your total profit since your last payout" (Article 2.6). Article 5.2: the consistency profit tally "resets to $0" after each payout but "Best day does NOT reset. Your highest single-day net P&L on record carries forward and continues to be used in every future consistency calculation." Article 4.3 and Article 3.6 both state there is NO consistency rule once the account is Live-Funded.

5 winning days to pass — Article 2.3: “To pass the Standard MAX evaluation, a trader must complete 5 winning days.” A winning day requires end-of-session net profit at or above a per-size threshold ($100 / $150 / $200 / $250 / $300). “Net profit is measured at the END of the trading session (4:50 PM EST flat), not at any intraday peak. A day where you were up $200 intraday but closed at $80 net does NOT count as a winning day for a $25K account.” No winning-day requirement applies to payouts on a funded MAX Standard account (Article 5.4: “Standard MAX — Funded | NO — not required for payouts”).

Details

Sim-funded MAX Standard withdrawal checklist (Article 5.2), all items must be true at the moment the request is reviewed: (1) “Buffer is fully built”; (2) “Account balance is $500+ above the buffer level”; (3) “Consistency is 40% or below”; (4) “Withdrawal amount is at least $500”; (5) “Withdrawal amount does not exceed the per-account cap”; (6) “Cumulative withdrawal (all accounts) does not exceed $10,000 per payout”. The buffer equals the account's EOD drawdown amount (Article 2.3: “Buffer Amount: Equal to the account's EOD drawdown from the evaluation”), so a 50K account must climb from $50,000 to $52,000 before any profit is withdrawable. No winning-day count is required for MAX Standard payouts. Article 5.1 adds: “Do not trade your account until your account balance has been adjusted. If you trade on the account before the funds are sent, your payout will be declined.” Live-Funded accounts have no consistency rule and no payout cap. Only profit earned since the last payout may be withdrawn (first payout: since funding).

Buffer $2,000; balance must be $500+ above the $52,000 buffer level. Caps $1,500 (payouts 1–3) then $2,000 (payout 4+). Winning day = $150 net.

Details

Minimum request $500 (“Requests below $500 will not be processed”). Per-account caps are tiered by that account's own payout count (Article 5.3, “effective April 20, 2026”): 25K $1,000 then $1,200; 50K $1,500 then $2,000; 100K $2,000 then $2,500; 150K $2,500 then $3,000; 250K $3,000 then $3,500 (payouts 1–3, then payout 4+). On top of that: “no single user may withdraw more than $10,000 total across all funded accounts in a single payout event” — “Which Cap Applies? Always the lesser of the two.” Promotion Review triggers on the 4th payout request on one account or the 10th across accounts since the last review. All sim-funded accounts close; evaluations remain open. The requested payout is processed separately under the normal rules. Promotion is not guaranteed.

TRADING HOURS: day-trade only — must be flat (“no open positions and no pending orders”) by 4:50 PM EST, reopen 6:00 PM EST; Friday 4:50 PM to Sunday 6:00 PM closed. “POSITIONS OPEN AT MARKET CLOSE = ACCOUNT FAILURE” — the system auto-flattens at 4:50 but on holiday early closes the trader is responsible and “your account will be liquidated and considered failed”. NEWS: T1 news trading is permitted in the evaluation (“YES — does not blow the account”) but prohibited in sim-funded and live-funded — “If you hold a position through a T1 news event in an Exhibition or Funded account, the account is immediately liquidated. You will NOT be eligible for funding, and ALL profits in the account are forfeited. This cannot be reversed. There is no appeal process.” Must be flat 1 minute before, during, and 1 minute after each T1 event; T1 = CPI, FOMC rate decisions and minutes, NFP, GDP (plus EIA for energy traders and agricultural reports for ag traders). “You must make use of Financial Juice news calendar — no other news calendar is accepted.” HEDGING: prohibited in every stage — “at no time can you go long on one product and short on another. A micro and a mini contract are considered different products”. AUTOMATION: “Automated trading is allowed but at the discretion of FFN. Any traders implementing HFT trading bots or attempting to exploit the simulated environment will lose access to their account.” HFT rule (Article 3.8): “No more than 30% of trades placed within a single trading session may have a round-trip duration of at or under 5 seconds” — breach means “Account is considered failed. The account and all profits are forfeited immediately. There is no appeal process.” CONTRACT LIMITS: “If you exceed your contract limits at ANY point (evaluation, exhibition, or funded), the account is failed immediately”; funded contract limits scale automatically up or down after each session, based on the end-of-day balance; the new limit applies next session.” COPY TRADING: max 10 accounts per user, max 5 copy-traded simultaneously; breach means “All copy-traded accounts lose funding eligibility and must be reset”. Only 5 funded accounts may be active at once. INDEPENDENT TRADING (Article 3.7): coordinated/mirrored trading across users, signal-service synchronised execution, trade copiers replicating another trader, sharing Rithmic credentials, account-management or challenge-passing services, shared VPS, and IP overlap with another trader's accounts are all prohibited. INACTIVITY: “you must complete at least 3 qualifying trading days within every 29-day period” (a qualifying day closes with a realized profit or loss of at least $5) or the account “is automatically cancelled” — this applies to blown accounts too. CLOSING ACCOUNTS: “If you choose to close your accounts, you will forfeit your profits on any accounts closed. This includes funded accounts.” The current live Institution requires positions closed before 4:44 PM ET; the 4:50 PM ET cutoff refers to sim accounts. Funded scaling is automatic under Article 3.5. Inactivity: Article 6.5 requires 3 days with at least $5 realized profit or loss in every 29 days; the Skip the Eval article instead describes 30 days without trades, so follow the stricter stated requirement pending clarification.

Each row describes the selected program at the selected account size. Drawdown and profit targets describe the evaluation, or the direct account when that is selected. Payout conditions describe the funded stage and may differ from evaluation rules. Payout eligibility is what unlocks a request; processing time distinguishes review, transfer and receipt.

Figures come from each firm’s own published pages, read on the date shown on that firm’s panel. Discounts show observed official prices for the selected program, without applying generic coupon arithmetic. Offers are not updated live. Confirm eligibility, final price, activation fees and full terms on the provider’s website.

Account size is nominal buying power, not withdrawable cash. Extra fees and withdrawal limits may apply. A field we could not confirm reads Not confirmed; a rule a firm states does not apply reads None. These are not the same thing, and neither is ever filled with a figure from another account size. A missing program means it is not verified in this comparison, not necessarily unavailable from the provider. The order of the firms is an editorial selection, not a performance ranking.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Futures prop firm FAQ.

Eight things worth knowing before you pay for an evaluation.

Back to the comparison
01What is a futures prop firm?

A futures prop firm sells trading evaluations rather than taking deposits to invest. You pay a fee, trade a simulated futures account against a profit target and fixed risk limits, and passing can qualify you for a funded stage. The firm sets those rules and keeps a share of what it pays out.

02How do futures prop firms work?

The shape is usually the same: buy an evaluation, reach a profit target without breaching the maximum drawdown or a daily loss limit, then move to a funded stage where payouts become possible. What differs between firms is the cost, how the drawdown is calculated and what you must do before the first withdrawal. Those are the rows in the comparison above.

03Are funded accounts simulated or live?

It depends on the firm and the stage. Several programs compared here stay simulated while still paying out, and some firms describe a later move to a live account. Check the wording for the exact program you are buying rather than assuming, because the two are not interchangeable.

04What does an evaluation cost before the first payout?

Usually more than the advertised entry price. Depending on the firm there may be a monthly renewal until you pass, a one time activation fee when the funded account opens, a separate reset fee after a breach, and platform or market data charges. Each firm’s panel lists the fees that firm publishes, and marks anything we could not confirm instead of filling it in.

05How do drawdown and daily loss limits differ?

A maximum drawdown is the total loss allowance for the life of the account. A daily loss limit caps a single session and resets the next day. The maximum drawdown is the one that usually moves: some firms update it only on closing balances, others during the session, and some stop it trailing once the account reaches a set point. Not every firm has a daily loss limit.

06What is a consistency rule?

A cap on how much of your profit may come from a single day, often written as a percentage of the total you want to withdraw. It exists so that one outsized trade cannot qualify an account on its own. Firms apply it at different stages, some only during the evaluation, some only once funded and some not at all, so read the row rather than assuming it is standard.

07When can I request a payout, and how long does processing take?

These are two separate things. Eligibility is what you must satisfy before you may ask: qualifying trading days, any consistency rule, a minimum balance left in the account and often a cap on the amount per request. Processing is how long the firm takes afterwards. The Payouts group above keeps the two apart, using each firm’s own published figures.

08How are firms selected and how is this site funded?

The ten are an editorial selection of active futures prop firms that publish their rules. The order is not a ranking, and we do not score, rate or star them. Some links here may earn us a commission. The selection follows our editorial order; it does not predict trading results. How we are paid sets out the detail.
